Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 1 pound beef (thinly sliced, Halal)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 piece bell pepper (sliced; your choice of color)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (ensure Halal)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Method

Cooking the Noodles
  1. Begin by boiling a pot of salted water and cooking the lo mein noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the sliced beef. Season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Sautéing the Vegetables
  1. In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary, then throw in the minced garlic, sliced bell pepper, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for around 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet still vibrant.
Combining All Ingredients
  1. Return the beef to the skillet, then add the cooked lo mein noodles. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, tossing everything to coat well. Heat for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is warmed through.
Serving
  1. Plate your Beef and Broccoli Noodles, garnishing with fresh green onions. Enjoy!

Notes

For substitutions, feel free to swap out the beef for chicken or tofu—just ensure they're Halal-friendly. Prep your vegetables and sauces ahead of time to make cooking quick and efficient. Avoid overcooking the vegetables to maintain their crispness.
