  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is recommended for optimal texture.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For cooking the broccoli.
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice your beef thinly against the grain for tenderness and chop broccoli into florets.
Marination
  1. Combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Marinate for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a large frying pan or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the broccoli for about 3 minutes until tender-crisp, then set it aside.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan, sautéing for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
Combining
  1. Return the broccoli to the pan, mix with the beef, and season with salt and pepper. Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

Storing: Allow leftovers to cool before storing in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat gently in a skillet with a splash of water or broth.
