Preparation
- Start by shredding your cooked BBQ chicken if you haven't already.
- Spread a generous amount of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the non-buttered side of one slice, layer the shredded BBQ chicken followed by the shredded cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
Cooking
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and carefully place the sandwich in the skillet.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom side is golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove the grilled cheese from the skillet and cut it in half. Serve warm.
Notes
You can customize your BBQ Chicken Grilled Cheese with jalapeƱos for a spicy kick or drizzles of ranch dressing for added creaminess. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
