Preparation
- In a bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a large bowl. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the bowl, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or ideally 2-4 hours).
Cooking
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- For grilling, cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). For baking, place the chicken on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness.
- Brush some extra BBQ sauce onto the chicken during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill or oven, let it rest for a few minutes, and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
For best results, marinate longer! Pair with creamy coleslaw, grilled corn, or baked beans. Use a meat thermometer for perfect cooking!
