Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the mashed bananas gently then pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  2. Once baked and cooled, spread the banana pudding evenly over the brownies.
  3. Top the pudding layer with whipped cream and sprinkle the crushed vanilla wafers on top.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour to set before slicing into squares.

Notes

Choose ripe bananas for the best flavor and texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.
