Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the mashed bananas gently then pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Once baked and cooled, spread the banana pudding evenly over the brownies.
- Top the pudding layer with whipped cream and sprinkle the crushed vanilla wafers on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour to set before slicing into squares.
