  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed The riper the bananas, the sweeter your brownies.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute half with whole wheat flour for added nutrition.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional for added chocolate flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas and melted butter. Mix well, then add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture into the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips gently if using.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze wrapped pieces for up to 3 months.
