Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mash the two ripe bananas with a fork until smooth; a few lumps are okay!
- Add the melted butter to the bananas and stir until combined. Then, incorporate the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until you have a smooth batter.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix these dry ingredients well before adding to the wet mixture.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve!
Notes
Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for 15-20 seconds before serving.
