  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed The riper the bananas, the sweeter the brownies.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Optional for added flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir until well blended.
  4. Mix in the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until the mixture is creamy and glossy.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture. Gradually add the flour and cocoa powder, stirring just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  8. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, slice them into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence. You can also drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce.
