Wet Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg, beaten
Dry Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  3. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix. Lastly, add the flour and stir until just combined (be careful not to overmix!).
  5. Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan and pour in the batter.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Once done, let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Banana bread pairs wonderfully with a cup of coffee or a tall glass of milk. For brunch, serve alongside fresh fruit salad, whipped cream and strawberries, or a dollop of peanut butter or cream cheese. Store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days, or slice and freeze in airtight container for up to 3 months.
