Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in the mashed bananas until fully incorporated into the mixture.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix. If using chocolate chips or walnuts, fold them in now.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Wrap leftover blondies in parchment paper and store in an airtight container. These blondies can be frozen for up to three months. Heat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds to restore freshness.
