  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is softened for best texture.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract and the eggs until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until no dry flour remains.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Scoop the cookie dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers look slightly soft.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. You can also add chopped nuts or a pinch of sea salt.
