Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups plain yogurt Use halal-friendly products.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • a pinch of salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, and salt. Stir until you achieve a perfectly smooth mixture.
  3. Grease a baking dish with a little bit of oil or butter to prevent sticking. You can use ramekins or a larger baking dish, depending on your serving preference.
  4. Pour the yogurt mixture into the prepared baking dish, filling it gracefully.
Baking
  1. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes. The surface should be set, and a toothpick inserted in the middle should come out clean.
  2. Once done, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  3. Optionally, you can chill it in the fridge for an extra refreshing experience.
Serving
  1. Top with your favorite fruits, nuts, or drizzles, and serve to your delighted guests.

Notes

For a vegan option, try using plant-based yogurt and a suitable egg substitute, like a flaxseed mix. Keep an eye on your yogurt as it bakes; too long can lead to a dry texture. Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for the best mixing results. Baked Yogurt can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container. If freezing, do so in smaller portions to maintain texture.
