Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the Italian sub rolls in half lengthwise, ensuring not to cut all the way through; they should hinge open.
- Drizzle olive oil on the insides of the rolls and sprinkle with dried oregano.
- Layer the sliced salami, turkey ham, pepperoni, and provolone cheese inside each roll.
- Add toppings of lettuce, tomato slices, onions, and pickles.
- Pull the tops of the rolls back over the fillings and place them on a baking sheet; you can wrap them in aluminum foil for extra crispiness if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is slightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven, slice in half if preferred, and serve warm.
Notes
For substitutes, consider grilled chicken or roasted vegetables for a lighter version. Avoid overcrowding the rolls to prevent sogginess. For storing, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and reheat in foil at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
