  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can substitute with low-fat cream or milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley For topping before serving
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or cheddar) Feel free to swap for other cheeses like goat or feta
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish Generously grease the dish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Generously grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Stir in the grated cheese, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
Serving
  1. Once out of the oven, sprinkle fresh chives or parsley on top before serving.
  2. Allow to cool for a minute before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes.
