  • 8 oz Provolone cheese Make sure to use good-quality provolone cheese.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For drizzling on cheese slices.
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano For seasoning.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili flakes Optional for added heat.
  • To taste Bread Optional, for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the provolone cheese into about 1-inch thick slices.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  3. Lightly drizzle both sides of the cheese slices with olive oil.
  4. Sprinkle oregano and chili flakes on both sides of each slice.
Cooking
  1. Place the cheese slices on the grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and melty.
  2. Remove from the grill and serve immediately, optionally with warm bread.

Notes

Serve hot for the best taste and texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheat in the oven, avoiding the microwave to prevent rubbery cheese.
