Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Core the apples and slice them thinly, about 10-12 slices per apple, then soak in lemon juice.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface until thin, then cut into 2-inch wide strips.
- In a bowl, mix the apple slices with sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Assembly and Baking
- Lay a strip of pastry on your work surface. On one edge, place overlapping slices of apples. Fold the pastry over the apples to create a pocket and roll gently.
- Place each rolled rose in a muffin tin. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with more cinnamon.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
Notes
For a variation, use other fruits like pears or peaches. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
