Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
Add-Ins
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the diced apples.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Once cool, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the cookies.
  3. Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before enjoying.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Allow to sit at room temperature before serving or warm in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
