Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough Typically comes in 2 cans.
  • 3 medium apples (peeled, cored, and diced) Use firm varieties like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to experiment with additional spices like nutmeg.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for sautéing)
Optional Toppings
  • to taste caramel sauce
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • to taste vanilla ice cream

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the apples are tender and the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. If baking, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Assembly
  1. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate the triangles. Take one triangle and spoon a small amount of the apple mixture onto the wide end.
  2. Carefully roll the dough around the filling, enclosing it completely. Pinch the seams to seal securely.
  3. Place the bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. If frying, heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the bombs until golden and crispy on all sides.
  4. Let the Apple Pie Bombs cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with your choice of toppings.

Notes

To elevate your Apple Pie Bombs, choose firm apples for the best texture and avoid overfilling. Consider baking for a healthier option or frying for a crispy texture.
