  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) For best results, let it sit at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup milk Halal-certified.
  • 2 large eggs Preferably at room temperature.
Filling Ingredients
  • 2 cups peeled and sliced apples Choose a mix of sweet and tart apples for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter or cooking spray.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until crumbly.
  3. Pour in the milk and add the eggs; mix until just combined.
  4. Carefully fold in the sliced apples and ground cinnamon.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack.
  2. Slice the cake and enjoy warm or at room temperature, optionally with whipped cream or powdered sugar.

Notes

For dairy-free options, consider using almond milk or coconut milk instead of regular milk, and coconut oil instead of butter. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
