Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth.
- Add the milk and eggs to the creamed butter and mix until well combined.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
Topping and Baking
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, rolled oats, and cinnamon for the topping.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread the oat topping evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
To keep leftovers fresh, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze individually wrapped slices for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
