  • 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Use apples that will hold their shape.
  • 1 cup granola Choose your preferred flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour For a gluten-free option, substitute with almond flour.
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice your apples into thin wedges. Place them into a large bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the sliced apples, tossing to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the spiced apples evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, mix together the granola, flour, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the topping generously over the arranged apples.
Baking
  1. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Pair with whipped topping or your favorite ice cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes until heated through.
