Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced A mix of tart and sweet varieties is recommended.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Powdered sugar for dusting To elevate the triangles.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir gently and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to smooth out creases and cut into squares, roughly six inches on each side.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple filling at the center of each square, fold over to form a triangle, and pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Beat the egg and brush a light coat over the tops of the triangles.
Baking
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the triangles on it.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  3. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy with family.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For freezing, store before baking for up to 3 months and bake from frozen for an extra 5-10 minutes.
