  • 1 piece pie crust (store-bought or homemade) Use your favorite crust
  • 2 cups apple butter Store-bought or homemade
  • 3 large eggs Room temperature is best
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half or dairy-free alternative
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances sweet flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg A pinch adds depth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness

Preparation and Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a store-bought pie crust, lay it in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Alternatively, prepare a homemade crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple butter, eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the apple butter mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.
  6. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing for better texture.
  7. Serve warm or chilled, topped with whipped cream or caramel drizzle.

Notes

For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
