Preparation and Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If using a store-bought pie crust, lay it in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Alternatively, prepare a homemade crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple butter, eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the apple butter mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing for better texture.
- Serve warm or chilled, topped with whipped cream or caramel drizzle.
Notes
For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
