Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups cauliflower florets
  • 1 unit apple, diced (a sweet variety like Fuji or Honeycrisp works best!)
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries (your choice!)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (halal-friendly!)
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt or mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for extra sweetness)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Rinse your broccoli and cauliflower florets under cold water and trim them into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Slice the apple into quarters, remove the core, and then dice it into small pieces.
Assembly
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli, cauliflower, and diced apple.
  2. Toss in the raisins or cranberries, along with the chopped walnuts or pecans.
  3. In a separate small bowl, mix the yogurt (or mayonnaise) with honey, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
Serving
  1. Give your salad a quick taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve it chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For ingredient substitutions, try swapping the apple with pears for a different flavor profile. Allow the salad to chill for about 30 minutes before serving for the flavors to mingle beautifully. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
