Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk together.
- Add the cubed cold butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- In a separate bowl, mix together milk and vanilla extract.
Baking
- Pour the milk mixture into the flour and apple mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Glazing and Serving
- While the biscuits are baking, melt the butter and mix it with honey in a small bowl.
- Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush the warm honey butter glaze generously over them. Serve warm.
Notes
Store extra biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or refrigerate for about a week. Reheat at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
