Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- Add the chilled, cubed butter to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend it until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk gradually and mix gently until just combined—be careful not to over-mix!
- Fold in the chopped apples until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- On a floured surface, turn the dough out and pat it into about 1-inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- While biscuits are baking, whisk together honey and powdered sugar in a small bowl until smooth.
- Once the biscuits are golden, remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle the honey butter glaze over the warm biscuits. Serve warm!
Notes
For best results, chill the butter before use and opt for fresh apples. Store in an airtight container for up to two days, or freeze for longer storage. Reheat before serving.
