  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed Approximately 1 pound
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 zest lemon (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the asparagus under cool water and snap off the tough ends of the stalks.
  2. Place the trimmed asparagus in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Carefully place the seasoned asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry for approximately 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  4. Once the asparagus is tender and crispy, remove it and sprinkle with lemon zest before serving.

Notes

For substitutions, avocado oil can be used in place of olive oil. Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of the asparagus. Always preheat the air fryer and ensure the asparagus is in a single layer for the best results. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
