Ingredients

For the Pizza Pockets
  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices can substitute with turkey pepperoni for a halal version
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pizza sauce (halal)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for brushing
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning for flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Roll out your pizza dough on a clean, floured surface until it’s about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Cut the dough into rectangles, about 4x6 inches.
  3. In the center of each rectangle, spoon about a tablespoon of pizza sauce. Layer with a few pepperoni slices and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Fold one side of the dough over the filling and press to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a secure closure.
  5. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle Italian seasoning over them.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pizza pockets in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch each other. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Allow them to cool slightly before serving with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the edges are sealed well to avoid a cheesy mess in the air fryer. They can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
