  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
  • 2 large eggs, beaten These act as a binding agent.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Panko is recommended for extra crunch.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For enhanced flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut each mozzarella cheese stick in half to create bite-sized pieces.
Set Up
  1. Prepare three mixing bowls—one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the third with a mix of breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Coating Process
  1. Dip each mozzarella piece into the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated, then shake off any excess.
  2. Dip into the beaten egg, ensuring an even coat.
  3. Finally, roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.
Preheat
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Arrange
  1. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the coated mozzarella sticks in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Air fry the mozzarella sticks for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway for even cooking.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, let them cool for a minute, then serve with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For extra crispy results, freeze the breaded sticks for 30 minutes before air frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
