Preparation
- In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and 2 tablespoons of sugar to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
- Once boiled, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool for a few minutes, and then transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Pipe strips of dough (about 4 inches long) into the basket, making sure to leave some space between each piece.
- Air fry the churros for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until they are golden brown and crisp.
- Once done, remove the churros from the basket and toss them in cinnamon sugar immediately to coat.
- Serve warm, and may the smiles be plentiful!
Notes
Dough consistency should be well-mixed but not too sticky. For storing, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
