Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Boneless chicken thighs can be used for richer flavor.
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds Add in the last minute of cooking.
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • as needed green onions for garnish Adds freshness and crunch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces for quick cooking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, and cornstarch. Whisk until well-blended.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade. Ensure every piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes for extra flavor.
  4. While the chicken marinates, preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Cooking
  1. Place the marinated chicken in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  2. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even browning.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken and let them crisp up.
Serving
  1. Once done, garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm over steamed rice or alongside a fresh veggie stir-fry.

Notes

Ensure you’re not overcrowding the air fryer basket for best results. For storing, use an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
