Method
Preparation
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a small bowl, combine ground cinnamon and sugar. Mix well and set aside.
- Lightly brush melted butter over the pastry sheets.
- Generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered pastry.
- Cut the pastry into strips, approximately 1 inch wide. Twist each strip several times and place in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the twisted pastries.
Cooking
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Cook the twists for 8-10 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
Serving
- Allow the twists to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them plain or with a drizzle of icing for extra sweetness.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week. To reheat, place in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for a few minutes.
