Preparation
- Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your puff pastry is thawed and ready to go.
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, stirring well until mixed uniformly.
- On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry sheet. If necessary, roll it out gently with a rolling pin to smooth it out a bit.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the pastry into even strips—about 1 inch wide works well.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the strips, making sure to cover both sides.
Cooking
- Take each strip and twist it gently a couple of times. Place the twists in your air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one for them to expand.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush a light coat over each twisted pastry for a golden finish. Spray the basket lightly with cooking spray.
- Set your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) and air fry for about 8-10 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Carefully remove the twists from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
Consider adding a dash of nutmeg or ground cloves for a unique flavor twist. Keep a close eye during the last couple of minutes to avoid over-browning. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days, or freeze for up to a month. To reheat, air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
