Preparation
- Start by rinsing the chicken drumsticks under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels, as this helps create that coveted crispy texture.
- In a medium bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the drumsticks to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes; if you have time, letting them soak up the flavors for longer (up to 2 hours) enhances the taste.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
- Arrange the marinated chicken drumsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring there’s space around each piece for even cooking.
- Air fry them for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Ensure your chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) for safety.
Serving
- Once cooked, remove the chicken drumsticks and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions to finish.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 5-7 minutes.
