Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 10 oz Tortilla Chips Look for halal-friendly options
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese Choose your favorite - cheddar or a Mexican blend works great
  • 1 cup Refried Beans Make sure they are halal-certified
Toppings
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes Fresh or canned
  • 1/2 cup Jalapeños Sliced, adjust per spice preference
  • 1 Avocado Diced, for garnish
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Optional for topping
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions or Cilantro For garnish
  • 1 cup Salsa Store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup Black Olives Sliced, optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) to create that perfect crispy texture.
  2. Place a layer of tortilla chips at the bottom of the air fryer basket.
  3. Spread a layer of refried beans over the chips to add a smooth, creamy texture.
  4. Sprinkle cheese generously over the chips and beans. Feel free to use different cheeses for added flavor!
  5. Add diced tomatoes, jalapeños, and any other preferred toppings like black olives.
  6. Carefully place the basket back into the air fryer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  7. When done, remove the nachos from the air fryer and top them with diced avocado, green onions, or cilantro. Serve with salsa and sour cream on the side.

Notes

Feel free to swap out ingredients as per your taste. Use halal-friendly meats like chicken or beef, or switch the cheese for a dairy-free option. If you prefer extra crunch, pre-bake the tortilla chips for a few minutes before layering them for added texture. Adjust the amount of jalapeños according to your spice preference. To avoid sogginess, make multiple smaller batches to retain the crispness of each layer. Store any uneaten nachos in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
