Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well to incorporate.
- In a separate bowl, warm the water and stir in the honey until it’s dissolved.
- Add the warm water mixture to the dry ingredients along with the olive oil. Mix until it forms a dough.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Rising
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the loaf for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove the bread from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, and then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve!
Notes
Ensure adequate rising time for fluffy texture and store in an airtight container for freshness. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
