Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 10 pieces fresh strawberries Choose ripe and juicy strawberries.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar This is for the sugar syrup.
  • ½ cup water Used to dissolve the sugar.
  • 6-8 inches Skewers Wooden skewers for threading the strawberries.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly under running water and pat them dry gently with a paper towel. Make sure they’re completely dry.
  2. Take your skewers and thread a strawberry onto each one, leaving some space on the end for easy handling.
Making the Sugar Syrup
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Place it on medium heat and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat slightly and keep an eye on it until it turns a light golden color, which usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
Coating the Strawberries
  1. Once the syrup is ready, promptly dip each skewer of strawberries into the syrup, twirling to coat evenly while allowing excess syrup to drip off.
  2. Place the coated strawberries upright in a cup or container and let them cool until the sugar hardens.

Notes

Enjoy fresh for the best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. They may soften over time.
