Preparation
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly under running water and pat them dry gently with a paper towel. Make sure they’re completely dry.
- Take your skewers and thread a strawberry onto each one, leaving some space on the end for easy handling.
Making the Sugar Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Place it on medium heat and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat slightly and keep an eye on it until it turns a light golden color, which usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
Coating the Strawberries
- Once the syrup is ready, promptly dip each skewer of strawberries into the syrup, twirling to coat evenly while allowing excess syrup to drip off.
- Place the coated strawberries upright in a cup or container and let them cool until the sugar hardens.
Notes
Enjoy fresh for the best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. They may soften over time.
