Ingredients

For the donut holes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
For the glaze
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For glazing
  • 1 tablespoon milk For glazing

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder. Whisk together until evenly combined.
  2. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring. Mix until a smooth dough forms. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky but manageable.
  3. With clean hands, scoop out small amounts of dough and roll them into uniform balls, about the size of a tablespoon. Place them on a lightly floured surface.
Cooking
  1. In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add a few donut holes at a time. Don’t overcrowd the pan!
  2. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them, letting excess oil drip.
Glazing
  1. In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and remaining tablespoon of milk to create a glaze. Dip each donut hole into the glaze and place them onto a cooling rack to set.

Notes

These donut holes are best enjoyed fresh. They can last up to 2 days in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer bag for up to one month. Reheat in the microwave for about 10 seconds to enjoy that fresh taste!
