Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen corn Canned corn can work too, but fresh is best.
  • 1 cup heavy cream or a Halal-friendly cream substitute
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or a Halal-friendly butter substitute
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients. If using fresh corn, shuck and remove the kernels from the cob. If using frozen corn, no need to defrost, as it will cook in the skillet.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until foamy.
  2. Stir in the corn (fresh or frozen) and cook for about 3-5 minutes until the corn is tender.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream, and stir well to combine. Keep stirring and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Feel free to get creative with herbs or spices you might have on hand!
  5. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Enjoy your delicious 3-Ingredient Creamed Corn warm!

Notes

Variations: Substitute heavy cream with a plant-based cream if preferred, or even coconut milk for a tropical twist. Timing is key; avoid overcooking the corn to retain its sweet crunch. Common mistakes include using too much liquid; the cream should coat the corn, not drown it.
