Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 whole ripe cantaloupe, cubed Look for one that’s sweet and fragrant.
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar Can be adjusted based on your preference.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice Brightens up the flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut the cantaloupe in half, scoop out the seeds, and chop it into cubes.
  2. Place the cantaloupe cubes in a blender or food processor. Add the sugar and lemon juice. Blend until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish or a loaf pan. Place it in the freezer for at least 3-4 hours or until it’s mostly frozen but still scoopable.
  4. Allow the sorbet to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping. For a fun presentation, create rose shapes on a plate using a scoop.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

To avoid ice crystals, stir the mixture every hour while freezing for the first few hours. Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving if too hard.
