Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter (softened, at room temperature) Ensure butter is softened for an airy texture.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and sugar. Cream them together until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter and sugar mix. Stir until well combined. The dough will be soft but not sticky.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  6. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about one week. Freeze for up to three months and microwave to warm or reheat in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for crispiness. Consider adding vanilla extract, almond extract, or citrus zest for variations.
