Ingredients

Dumpling Filling
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup ground chicken (Halal) Can substitute with ground beef, turkey, or tofu
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
Cooking Ingredients
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped green onions, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix until fully combined.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with a drop of water, fold the wrapper in half to create a triangle, and pinch the edges to seal.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled dumplings in a single layer in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  2. Pour the vegetable broth over the dumplings and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing them to steam and become tender.
  3. Once the dumplings are fully cooked, season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with additional soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. For freezing, lay the dumplings out on a baking sheet until frozen, then transfer to a ziplock bag. Reheat gently in a skillet with a splash of water and cover to steam.
