  • 2 cups apple pie filling (store-bought or homemade)
Pastry Base
  • 1 package pre-made phyllo dough or puff pastry (thawed, if frozen) Use phyllo: layer about 3 sheets; use puff pastry: roll out to thin.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unfold the phyllo dough or puff pastry.
  3. If using phyllo, layer about 3 sheets, brushing each layer with a little oil or melted butter.
  4. For puff pastry, roll it out until thin and pliable.
  5. Cut the pastry into 4-inch squares.
  6. Gently press each pastry square into a muffin tin to form cups.
  7. Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of apple pie filling into each cup.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  2. Allow the cups to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the muffin tin.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For variations, try different halal-friendly fruit fillings. Keep an eye on the pastries while baking, as oven temperatures may vary. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freeze unbaked cups for up to a month.
