Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 packets Udon Noodles fresh or dried
  • 2 tablespoons Chili Oil adjust to spice preference
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 Green Onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds for garnish

Method

Cooking the Noodles
  1. In a large pot, bring enough water to boil. Add the udon noodles and cook them according to the package instructions (usually about 3-5 minutes for fresh noodles and 7-9 minutes for dried). Once cooked, drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
Making the Flavor Base
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the chili oil. Once it’s hot, toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until it’s fragrant but not burnt.
Combining Noodles and Sauce
  1. Add the drained udon noodles to the skillet, followed by the soy sauce. Toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the chili oil and soy sauce mixture.
Garnishing and Serving
  1. Remove from heat and sprinkle the sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor!

Notes

For added nutrition, consider incorporating sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli. Beware of overcooking the garlic, as it can become bitter. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in a skillet with water to restore moisture.
