Ingredients

For the Cookie
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • a pinch salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk or a tablespoon of milk for a lighter recipe
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. In a standard-sized microwave-safe mug, combine 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Microwave it for about 20-30 seconds until melted.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the melted butter. Stir with a fork until well combined.
  3. Mix in a pinch of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Give it another good stir.
  4. Add in one egg yolk for richness (or use a tablespoon of milk for a lighter version), and mix well.
  5. Stir in 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour until fully combined.
  6. Fold in 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed in the batter.
  7. Pop the mug into the microwave and cook for about 30-40 seconds. Keep an eye on it as microwaves can vary in power. It’s done when the cookie looks just set!
  8. Let it cool for a moment before diving in.

Notes

Consider serving with a dollop of ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra treat. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, best enjoyed fresh.
